I blooming love this fabric—and you will too. My new favourite dress (the Emily Dress by my pal Sharlene at So Sew Patterns) is made in it and the big sleeve energy is chef’s kiss. This cotton lawn has that buttery, almost weightless handle, yet it’s reassuringly opaque for everyday wear.
Full disclosure: I did have a tiny Princess Di-in-the-sun moment at just the wrong angle—if you know, you know! If you’re sun-drenched or camera-flashed often, add a light lining. Day to day, I’ve felt perfectly covered.

What is cotton lawn?
A finely woven, high thread-count plain-weave cotton with a smooth, slightly lustrous surface. Lawn is breathable, soft, and drapes beautifully, making it a favourite for summer dresses, blouses, skirts and travel wardrobes (it presses back to perfect in seconds).
