Heat Erasable Pen

SKU: Heat Pen
  • Mark, sew, erase, repeat: clean, fine lines for darts, pleats, buttonholes, quilting guides
  • Two ways to remove: built-in eraser or a touch of heat/steam from your iron

  • Low-mess alternative to chalk: no dust, no smears

  • Non-toxic & fabric-friendly (always test on a scrap first)

  • Great on light fabrics: cotton poplin, lawn, linen blends, many jerseys

Meet your new favourite marking tool for neat seams and crisp top-stitching. This heat-erasable pen glides on smoothly, wipes away with the built-in eraser - (No I didn't know that either) and disappears with a cool iron (or the steam from your iron). It’s a brilliant alternative to tailor’s chalk—especially on light-coloured fabrics where you want a fine line without the dust.

Like sewists and their sacred scissors, every fabric has a personality. Different dyes and finishes can react differently to marking tools, so always do a quick scrap test first. If it passes the test, you’re golden: mark, sew, press, poof—gone.

Why you’ll love it

  • Clean, fine lines for darts, pleats, buttonholes, quilting guides and more

  • Erase two ways: rub off with the attached eraser or press to remove

  • Low-mess alternative to chalk (no crumbles, no smears)

  • Non-toxic & safe to use

  • Great for light fabrics: cotton poplin, lawn, linen blends, many jerseys

How to use

  • Test on a scrap of the same fabric (check it fully disappears).

  • Mark your lines. Sew happily.

  • Remove by:

    • Pressing: touch with a cool/warm iron or a puff of steam, or

    • Rubbing: use the built-in eraser to lift the line.

  • If a faint “ghost” remains, press again with a press cloth, or lightly dab with water, then press dry.

  • Additional Information

Helpful notes (so you don’t swear at your fabric)

    • Light fabrics only: on dark or highly saturated dyes, some pens can “ghost”—test first.

    • Cold can bring lines back: some heat-erasable inks can reappear in very cold temperatures. If that happens, a quick re-press sends them packing again.

    • Finishes matter: stain-resistant or coated surfaces may hold a shadow—again, scrap test is your friend.

    • Press cloth = peace of mind on delicate fibres (silk, viscose, specialty finishes).#
