Pattern pairings from my shop
Esti Trousers (Tilly and the Buttons) - pull-on waist; 35 mm sits beautifully but the pattern needs adjusted to accommodate the elastic variation as 25mm is suggested.
Safiya Trousers (Make It Simple Tilly and the Buttons) - relaxed woven; perfect with 35 mm. Much like the Esti, you will need to adjust the pattern to facilitate the wider elastic.
Carolyn Pyjamas (Closet Core Patterns) - (use 35 mm if you prefer a wider, comfier waistband)
Plateau Joggers (Closet Core Patterns) - (works with 35 mm by adjusting the elastic/casing depth per instructions)
Twig Woven Pant (Style Arc) - Cropped length, barrel leg high waisted jeans with fly front and inseam pockets. Fly front and button waistband and elastic back waistband.
How to use (quick guide)
Cut elastic to waist measurement minus 2–5 cm (personal preference).
Join ends overlapped and zigzag several times (or butt-join with a woven patch).
Quarter-mark both elastic and garment; stitch in the ditch at side seams to stop twisting.
Test fit before final topstitching.

Care & keeping
- Pre-wash (20–40°C) before cutting to minimise shrinkage
- Wash inside-out with similar colours; line dry or low tumble - I tend to do both. I start the prewashed fabric in the tumble dryer for 10-20 minutes then finish on the washing line
- Light steam on reverse to lift the brushed pile after laundering
- Do not Dry Clean
