A really versatile cotton jersey with a classic pink and white stripe, broken up with larger pink block stripes for a little extra interest.
This is the kind of fabric that works hard in your wardrobe. Casual, easy to wear and perfect for creating pieces you can reach for year round — and we all know how much I love a make that can be worn on repeat.
The medium weight makes it a great choice for T-shirts, dresses, skirts, underwear, layering pieces and smaller scrap-busting projects. It’s particularly handy for transitional dressing too. I’d love this made up as the Freya Top by Tilly and the Buttons, particularly the mock neck version for layering under pinafores and dresses. The Wardrobe By Me Camisole would also be a brilliant option for a simple layering piece that works across the seasons.
Want to try some colour blocking? Mix the black version up a little with the matching Black Triple Stripe version to create something truly unique!
And one of the best things about jersey? It’s comfortable, forgiving and generally requires far less precise fitting than a woven fabric.
Just remember that stretch doesn’t mean you should size down. Always choose your size according to the pattern measurements. If jersey is stretched too far across the body, the fabric can become distorted and, depending on the colour and knit, may even become slightly translucent.
